Fumie Shimojo
Born in Oyama, Tochigi Prefecture, Fumie attended Tochigi Prefectural School for the Deaf and continued her education at Advanced Vocational Course of Special Needs Education School for the Deaf, University of Tsukuba (formerly School for the Deaf, University of Tsukuba) and graduated from the Art and Design department.
She teaches part-time at the National Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities Course of Sign Language Studies and at WP Shuwa Terakoya (School of Sign Language). She is also an instructor at a sign language interpreter training program in the Oyama area. She is often invited as a lecturer to training sessions for registered sign language interpreters and Deaf sign language instructor training programs all over Japan.
Fumie is a member of NPO Japanese Sign Language Teachers Center and Oyama Association of the Deaf.
